Los Angeles Dodgers player, and recent World Championship champ, Cody Bellinger will appear in the new Assasin’s Creed Valhalla video game as a character named Otta Sluggasson. This isn’t just a one-time cameo when famous celebs appear in one take Game of thrones ring. No, Bellinger is involved in character movement capture, voice acting, and face modeling as well.
According to Ubisoft North America’s description of the character, Sluggasson is “a Dane with a knack for hitting rocks too far.” You can take a look at the character creation process below. Perhaps the funny part of the video is the realization that the game developers really leaned on the baseball-related personality of Bellinger.
“I love video games, so when I heard I had the opportunity to be a character in a big video game, I was excited,” Bellinger told ESPN about his appearance in the game. “I’m kind of a video game geek. My brother and I played Assassin’s Creed again that day and we just loved it. The graphics are very realistic. It’s a game that will take a lot of your time.”
Bellinger notes that you can find the character in the game’s story mode, and it also offers the player a real challenge to advance in the game. There’s no word on what this particular challenge is, but as long as it doesn’t hit the house while the Bellinger is on the court, it shouldn’t cause too many problems for players.
