The feud first began in 2007, when Heigl alleged that Washington used an anti-gay insult on the group while referring to co-star TR Knight during a fight with Patrick Dempsey. Knight appeared as gay after the incident, which only worsened when Washington, at the Golden Globes that year, denied the allegations, and told Access Hollywood, “No, I didn’t call TR af —- t.” At the time, Heigl replied, “I’m going to be really honest now, he needs to not speak publicly. Point.”
Shortly thereafter, ABC announced that Washington would not be returning for the next season of “Grey’s Anatomy”. The actor has been going on to write an apology – saying he’s sorry for the “unfortunate use of words” in his fight – and releasing the PSA ad for GLAAD.

However, in another post on Monday, Washington again clapped a follower claiming that Hegel was only defending her gay friend, writing, “She wasn’t there, so die on this hill, whoever. Friend.”
Then he pulled vet “Grey’s Anatomy” Chandra Wilson into the mix, adding, “Chandra Wilson knows everything about that too.”
