BioWare GM, Mass effect Casey Hudson’s lead Age of the Dragon Executive Producer Mark Dara will leave BioWare after a long-running over 20 years with the company.
Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah are household names to anyone who loves BioWare games. Hudson has been with the company for nearly 20 years in total, he left for the first time in 2014 to work for Microsoft, and returned in 2017 to work as a general manager and assist ships National anthem. Mark Dara’s tenure with BioWare stretches back 23 years until the late 1990s.
Hudson says the reason he left was to seek more personal creative projects. “Getting to this stage was an opportunity for me to think about my future, and 2020 was a year that forced us all to reimagine how we think about work and life,” he said in a blog post. “For me, I’ve realized that I still have a tremendous energy for her creativity, but I also need to try something different. I’m not sure what exactly it is yet, but I know I want to start rediscovering my creative passion through more personal work.”
Likewise, Dara cites this year’s particularly eye-opening experience that helped him make that decision. Dara says in his blog post that he’s not sure what to do after leaving BioWare.
Both developers are praising the teams and leadership at BioWare, reassuring fans that things are in good hands. “and I know that Age of the Dragon Not only will you survive Donnie, but you will thrive, ”says Dara, while Hudson says:“ One of the things that makes these decisions easier is knowing that BioWare will go ahead with a strong and full-fledged group of studio leaders. “
Gary McKay is currently the Interim General Manager for BioWare while Christian Dailey, a Blizzard University graduate, is working on National anthem Restart, he was assigned to lead the current Age of the Dragon The project (known colloquially as Dragon Age 4, But still without an official title.) National anthem Development continues to move forward. Mass effect Development is also not affected, with Mass Effect: Legendary Edition It’s still planned for release and “Mike Gamble … is leading a team that’s working hard on the future of this franchise.”
EA is looking for a new permanent BioWare GM to replace Hudson. “The search for a new GM is underway and we are already talking to some amazing people. We will find the right leader who has a deep love and respect for the heritage of this studio, who embodies the values of this team and who will help preserve the amazing legacy of BioWare.”
