KNLTB has appointed Peter Lucasin as a high-performance director. Starting in August, the Vught tennis coach will be responsible, along with Topsport Manager Dennis Sporrel, for the best sports program and best sports culture for the Dutch tennis professionals.
This means that Lucasin will exchange the United States, as he owns his own tennis school in Los Angeles, the Netherlands. “I would like to use my experience in the international circuit and direct the young players towards the top 100 Dutch tennis players,” says Lucasin of his appointment. “I believe in the current group of players knocking on the door and with this group of players and coaches I want to get everything out of it and take a step towards the top 100.”
Lucasin himself was also active as a professional tennis player in the past, until he reached 541 in the world rankings, but he ended his career at a relatively young age to obtain his college degree in the United States and start training young talent. Not only did Vaughnar do this at his tennis school, but also in the USTA, the American Tennis Association.
Peter breathes tennis.
“Peter is wonderfully fit for the team,” says KNLTB’s coach Jacco Eltingh. “He breathes tennis and never lets go.” “Plus, he can still play tennis well. That’s what we need right now at the best tennis. Denise and Peter complement each other and together will be the driving force in the coming years to build an ideal sports culture.”
