Robbie Servais signed a new two-year contract with MVV Maastricht on Tuesday.
Service, who has been a part of the club’s coaching staff for nearly two years, will focus more on the U-23 team and acquire its diploma in coaching in the coming seasons.

The original Maastrichtian thus far combined his MVV Onder-21 coaching position with his role as assistant coach in the first team, having assembled the coaching staff alongside coach Darig Kalisic and other assistant Regiglio Fred. Servais will be working part-time as an assistant coach for the Star Bearers starting next season.

Service is happy that he can now go full-time in MVV Under-21. “It’s great that I devote more attention to that. The upcoming upgrade to the youth academy will make this job more attractive, but supporting the MVV in pursuing a professional soccer coach course is just as important. This is very important to me. The MVV will soon reveal its plans for the youth academy, with Ron Ellsson being the driving force.

Training
Service will begin his coaching as head coach after the summer. He is one of the ten participants who have been accepted into the annual course by KNVB. Prior to joining MVV in 2019, Servais was an assistant coach in Japan with Vissel Kobe and Omiya and worked in football leagues in Singapore and Australia. He also held the position of National Coach for Brunei for a short period in 2019.
