The Collision event, the US version of the European Web Summit, is looking forward to a successful second edition of its web conference. There were more than 38,000 participants from 141 countries as CEOs and founders of tech giants, including TikTok’s CMO and the co-founder of Twitter Biz Stone. Moreover, these movie stars are joining the presentations including Nicole Kidman. Dutch technology leaders, such as GitLab founder Sid Sijbrandij, also participated. 44 percent of Collision’s visitors are women.
Collision is the fastest growing technology event in North America. The technology conference surpassed 32,000 attendees last year to host the largest event yet. 1,426 journalists (including the Dutch IT channel), 860 investors, 621 speakers and 113 partners used the platform during the three days of the event to make meaningful connections with people from all over the world. Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom are among the most visited countries, along with Germany, India, Portugal and the Netherlands.
Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity
Several topics were discussed, such as marketing, politics, health (including COVID-19), financial technology, artificial intelligence, smart cities, and cybersecurity. Startups
The event also welcomed 1266 startups. The startups participating in Collision represent more than 78 countries and 27 industries. Among them are 22 AMPLIFY startups – companies founded and managed by people from underrepresented communities. The startups at the event that strive to achieve one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are referred to as “Influential Startups”.
More than 1,500 pre-planned sessions have taken place on the platform, ranging from live Q&A with Cloudflare’s Michael Zatlin and co-founder of Twitter Biz Stone and Nikolai Sturonsky from Revolut to press conferences with Grammy Award winner NE-YO and Virgin Hyperloop CEO Josh Jijel. There were also roundtable discussions with Catherine Maher, CEO of Wikipedia and John Tory, Mayor of Toronto.
The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands organized a round table discussion on “Women in Technology” as part of the collision conference.
