Finally, Sony and Disney communicate decently a little when it comes to Marvel content. Of course it took a while, but now it looks like a deal has finally been made to allow the Spider-Man movies to appear on Disney +. However, there are still some hurdles to the deal that deliver some bad news. For example, there is also a fairly recent deal between Sony and Netflix that gives Netflix a temporary exclusive on movies from Sony’s stable.
Then of course it also has to do with the Spider-Man movies that debuted on Netflix nine months after the original release, but were allowed to appear on Disney + after a certain period of time. Plus, there’s something that can throw a wrench in business and that’s probably the most damaging news. The deal appears to only apply to the United States. This is definitely disappointing for any Marvel fan who wants to watch Spider-Man movies on Disney +.
Disney + Spider-Man movies
If the deal still applies in the Netherlands, it is anyway good news for everyone who loves Spider-Man movies. The deal between Disney and Sony also states that all old Spider-Man movies may appear on Disney +, which is good news if you’re a fan of Tobey Maguire. Moreover, it’s of course really a party for Spidey fans, because we now also know that Doc Ock will be back in the new movie coming out at the end of this year.
