What is already certain is that the tour will finally start in Copenhagen in 2022, already on Friday evening (July 1) with a trial time of 13 kilometres. That follows two more days in Denmark, followed by a movement/rest day on Monday – so the 2022 Tour de France will have three rest days.
From that moment on this is done clearly and with real certainty we have to wait until the course is presented on October 14th. Butrrrr…there are of course a lot of rumors. We briefly mention them.
First of all, there will be a corridor through Switzerland with Lausanne as the place of arrival and Eagle, where the UCI is based, as the starting place. The stage that begins at Aigle may end in Châtel, a French winter sports resort in the Jura (altitude of about 8 kilometers at 8 percent).
Across a stage from Briancon to Barcelonette (Col d’Izoard, Col de Vars?) the peloton will leave the Alps again. But she will return, according to the French newspaper Le Dauphin. According to the newspaper, on the penultimate day of the tour, there is access to “De Nederlandse Berg”, Alpe d’Huez.
This will be the first time since 2018 that the Tour returns to the legendary reach. Then Geraint Thomas beat Tom Dumoulin. Below you can see the rumors in a table from the Twitter account of La Flamme Rouge.
