After a long series of European races, it is time once again for Formula 1 to cross the Atlantic and visit the United States after a year’s absence. This also means staying up longer in the Netherlands, where all the action will only start in the evening.
Formula 1 had to cancel several outdoor races last year due to the coronavirus, but a few were on the calendar for this season. This includes the United States Grand Prix, which will be held again after a year of absence at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Drivers will complete 56 laps of the 5.5-kilometre circuit, known for its steep walk towards Turn 1, before flying through a challenging but fast cornering set.
For European F1 fans, it’s been fine lately with start times around normal, around 3:00pm, but for the US Grand Prix, Dutch fans will have to stay up a bit longer. All events will only start towards the evening and qualifiers in particular will be a bit late with a 23:00 start time. The race starts on Sunday at 9pm.
