At the beginning of December, Sippy Smits was back after more than a year of injury. In November 2020, Smits broke his leg while training. On his return at the American Steamboat Ski Resort, Smits finished 21st in the playoffs. It wasn’t enough to get a place in the final.

More than two weeks after his comeback, Smits is already back in the rags basket again. “Unfortunately, I broke my collarbone a few days ago,” Smits says on his Instagram. “It’s really annoying, because I’m just starting to feel good on my skateboard after my injury. The operation went well and I’ll be back very soon.”
Smits will miss his third consecutive Winter Games. Today, he has already returned to his homeland from Switzerland and begins his rehabilitation. From Switzerland, he said he expected to be back in about two months. This day is too short for the Beijing Winter Games, which will be held in Beijing from February 4-20, 2022.
