Jan Boelhauer, the acting mayor of Wales, told NOS last month about possible new ministerial positions for Sigrid Kaag (D66) and Wopke Hoekstra (CDA). He accidentally forwarded the information to the wrong person, who then posted it on Twitter.
According to Xandra Koster, she already knew in November that Kaag would come to Finance and Hoekstra to foreign affairs. “Some politicians thought I was a Zander (Xander van de Wulp of NOS, editor) who could leak to him.”
According to Boelhouwer, D66 would have demanded that Kaag become finance minister, as this is a key position in the distribution of funds. Wopke Hoekstra, who is currently a temporary minister in that position, would have “put a magnifier in the wheel”, and it can be read.
D66 leader Sigrid Kaag confirmed on Friday that she will become finance minister in the fourth Rota government. She succeeded CDA leader Wopke Hoekstra, who would now take another cabinet position. Which is not yet known.
There was no secret
According to a Boelhouwer spokesperson, it is common for political circles to talk about formation. She said in response to Omroep Brabant: “This is different from a leak. Jan Boelhouwer heard this information. There was no confidentiality.”
