In the most popular mobile video game category, Subway Surfers topped the list (which took second place last year), followed by Roblox, Bridge Race, and Garena Free Fire. Last year’s category winner, Among Us, is fifth this year.
The most popular entertainment app category, as expected, comes at the top of the Netflix list, followed by Youtube, Google Play Games, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.
Tiktok is the most popular in the most popular social networking apps category. It is followed by Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp and Snapchat. Interestingly, Twitter is only ranked sixth although it was often mentioned during 2021 as an “alternative” to Facebook and Instagram when their services were not available.
It is interesting to know the most popular crypto apps in 2021. Hence, Binance is the most popular app, followed by Crypto.com, Coinbase, Trust and eToro.
Paypal tops the list of the most popular apps for paying or sending money, followed by Google Pay and two Chinese apps – Phonepe and Alipay.
The trend of “work from home” is clearly visible among business applications. So the most popular app is Zoom, followed by Google Meet, Whatsapp Business, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
It should be noted that Huawei’s AppGallery is not included in this list.
