Android smartphones will soon get a screen time widget, as 9to5Google discovered the new shortcut in the beta version 1.0.416751293 of Digital Wellbeing, and it is said that the tool will show the time users spend on their phones along with the top three used applications.

The report also shares screenshots of the upcoming Screen Time widget. Screen time is shown at the top followed by top used apps. Time is distributed by apps in proportionally sized circles, consistent with the dynamic color theme on Android.

In terms of size, the tool can be compressed as 2 x 2 or 2 x 1, and it can also be expanded for a larger width. When the size is larger, the most frequently used app is placed at the bottom, rather than the top.

According to the report, the Screen Time widget will be available to all Android users, and it will not be exclusive to Pixel users only, while there is no expected timeline for the launch of the new tool.

The Screen Time widget is already available for iPhone users. The widget displays information from the user’s screen time summary, and you can use Screen Time to get information about the way you and your family members spend time on your devices – the apps and websites you use, and how often you capture your device, and more.

You can use this information to help you make decisions about managing the time you spend on devices, you can also schedule time away from your screen, set time limits for app use, and more.
