Shannon LaNier, a sixth fantastic-grandson of Founding Father Thomas Jefferson and his slave, Sally Hemings, wore the similar sort of outfit as his well-known ancestor for a Smithsonian Journal piece, “American Descendants.”
But LaNier, who is Black, mentioned in the report in the magazine’s July issue that he selected not to wear a wig.
