It was not a successful sports weekend for the Netherlands. Matteo van der Poel was unable to compete for victory in the Amstel Gold and Max Verstappen retired again due to technical issues during the Australian Grand Prix. But the F1 driver wasn’t the only one with technical problems.
Many Dutch people woke up early Sunday morning to see Verstappen ripping through Albert Park in Melbourne, but some Viaplay users didn’t see much of the scene. The app encountered problems again, where customers saw all the blocksnot a sharp picture.
This again caused a lot of criticism on social media. Viaplay advised people with complaints to restart the application and if this does not help, contact customer service. Not what you want to hear if you just want to enjoy F1 racing live.
Longer swipe Viaplay
This isn’t the first time Viaplay has come under fire on social media. The streaming service also had problems during other races and the new commentators were not liked either. There are even users who use Viaplay themselves Mute Hear Olaf Mol’s commentary on Grand Prix Radio. A recent study found that only 7 percent of Viaplay users rated the service as “good.”
Peter Norylund, president of parent company Nordic Entertainment Group, recently avoided Viaplay’s criticism. According to Norrelund, the technical issues mainly lie with the users themselves and not the source. For example, it concerns the “Internet quality of the Internet connection in the user’s home”. This statement can be based on numerous negative feedback from Viaplay customers.
