It really shines on many surfaces: solar modules. Station operators should keep their eyes open this year. Because in the future it may be better to sell a self-made electric brand.
Individuals with a rooftop PV system are likely already familiar with the wage bill: Electricity fed into the public grid is currently only paid about six cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Electricity purchased from the supplier often costs more than 30 cents per kWh. So it is beneficial to use as much solar energy as possible on your own. However, selling self-produced electricity may become more attractive in the future. Because the expected change in the law promises to double the wage rates for full feeders. The magazine “Finanztest” (6/2022 edition) points to this.
New PV system rewards list from 2023
If EEG reform passes through the Bundestag in the summer, full-feed users should hope for a wage of 13.40 cents per kilowatt-hour. However, this only applies to solar modules that will be operational from 2023.
Full nutrition can pay off again, especially for operators of systems with an output of more than ten kilowatts. According to product testers, these models reduce the percentage of solar energy a customer can use — too little to be profitable.
Also interesting: is it worth having a solar system on the balcony to generate your own electricity?
On the other hand, anyone who wants to continue using part of the solar energy for themselves and bring the rest into the grid must continue to receive a maximum of 6.53 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity fed into the grid. The decision between full and partial feeding is not binding, and operators can reconsider each year. The return calculator from Stiftung Warentest can help with this.
Homeowners need more patience
Basically, the “Finanztest” program advises homeowners who want to install a system in the near future to be patient. Only when the Federal Ministry of Economics confirms the new wage rates and the Bundestag approves the law will factory operators be sure. This will likely be at the end of June or the beginning of July 2022.
But homeowners have to be patient anyway – completely regardless of any feed tariffs. After signing the contract, it often takes more than half a year for the small rooftop solar power plant to be installed due to high demand.
