Swiss supermarket chain Migros has partnered with Bio Suisse, adhering to stricter organic guidelines for not only fresh produce, but also processed and imported Migros Bio products.
The planned partnership with Bio Suisse was already announced last summer. Now the ink is dry and the cooperation is confirmed. This step reinforces the already existing cooperation between Bio Suisse and Migros and in this regard is an additional joint development of organic farming. Starting this fall, the Bio Suisse Knospe logo will also appear on Migros organic products.
“The fact that Migros uses the Bio Suisse brand for organic products will give a boost to organic farming in Switzerland and significantly increase the appearance of sprouts. Consumers can also be satisfied. They will have a high level of reliability, transparency and traceability using Knospe products”, says Urs Brändli, Head of Bio Suisse.
Flexibility through sustainability
The partnership with Bio Suisse is a long-term commitment to sustainable agriculture and the next logical step in developing and expanding biological expertise. “Together with the producers of Bio Suisse, we are also investing in the research and development of new technologies in organic farming,” says Rolf Bernard, Head of Agronomy at Migros Cooperatives. Migros is therefore committed to greater food security and resilience thanks to sustainable systems in a challenging global situation.
