Henley: A few Dutchmen in battle

Yesterday was ax day for Dutch boats in picturesque Henley-on- Thames. Of the large number of Dutch teams still in the race, only Temple8 of Triton remained. as well as a number of Foreign Service rowers and a Wiebot Rustenburg with his French brother-in-law, Guillaume Tourlan.

The final set was rowing one of the most exciting races of the day against New Zealand’s twin light boats. Skøll’s rower had a blemish for a while, but in the middle of the race the strength of the heavy boat seemed to outweigh the ductility of the light New Zealanders. However, those rowers did everything they could to get back, so it was still exciting to run. Today awaits Australia in the semi-finals.

In the ’80s, Laga set up a stunt race against a respected favorite University of Washington, but lost too much in the middle of the race to make it really exciting. Triton actually won, against a strong Canadian team from Columbia University. Today, favorite Oxford Brooks team awaits them at home in the semi-finals. Apparently Eight Ladies Eiger and Nereus were a pretty small size against the American teams at London and Brown respectively.

FISU
The adventure is also over for the two original boats selected for the FISU World Championship. The eight – who can play in Lucerne next week – lost to the women’s panel at Dartmouth. The four-seater vehicle was put into place by the University of Washington. Fortunately, there was still a Dutch touch to it, because Gert-Jan van Doorn was second in this boat. Proteus-Eretes fell in the four-meter race against Oxford Brooks.

Winners
A few recluses were also successful. Jesse Vermeer (Nerys) has rowed for the Canadian Rowing Club Sydney during the first race of the day against Cambridge and Leander. Today, a difficult task awaits against the New Zealand team of four. Vin van Westrenen was lucky in second with her teammate from California because their New Zealand opponents pulled out. Today a development boat from Leander awaits you.

Linder
Eve Stewart and Lisa Goossens, who are now provisionally training with Leander, lost in the four and Stewart also lost in the eight. Junior James Graham Van Die Leith holds dual citizenship and competes with Leander in dual paddle races. He drove the entire race but had to hand the win over to Claires Court School in the end. Oxford Brooks Boat B with Robbert Kooiman and Dries Beer lost to Durham at Temple.

Miller
Olaf Molinaar finally reached the semi-finals of the women’s board. With his team in California, he easily overcame an English boat. Today he’s rowing against Dartmouth who knocked out Eight Fizzo.
