Since last week, you can watch on Disney + rise, a film about the amazing life story of NBA star Giannis Antikonmo and his family. The Greek has now responded to the film for the first time with a video.
Not surprisingly, the Antetokounmpo family’s life story will one day be turned into a movie. Mother Veronica, a former high jumper, and father Charles, a former soccer player, left Nigeria in 1991 for the Greek capital of Athens in hopes of finding a better life. Their eldest son, Francis, remained with his grandparents. In Greece, the couple had four more children: Thanassis (1992), Giannis (1994), Kostas (1997) and Alexandros (2001).

Antetokounmpo’s life was difficult. Organizing them as Greek citizens was not proper. So it was difficult to find work, so there was often little money. Nevertheless, the family maintained their optimistic hopes for improvement. It came in 2013 when Giannis was recruited into the NBA by the Milwaukee Bucks and the whole family was able to move to the United States. while Greek Freak Two-time MVP (Player of the Season), NBA champion and recently signed a lucrative new five-year contract.
Despite all this success, the NBA star has always remained humble. This is also evident from his reaction after the release rise† “When I see all the films Disney has made in the past, I would never have thought that a movie about our lives would come in between. But it’s true, it really happened,” he said proudly.

“When rise When I saw him for the first time, I got goosebumps and started crying. Then I looked at my mother, who was also crying. I don’t think I, or anyone else in our family, would be able to watch the movie without crying,” continues Giannis.
“The real heroes in the whole story are my parents. I wanted to show the world how determined they are. Without the sacrifices they made, we wouldn’t be who we are today and where we are today. Being able to share our story with the whole world is really incredible,” concludes Giannis Anticonmo.
