Anything but nuclear power!
If the Greens, the SPD and environmental organizations have their way, the last three furnaces will have to be removed from the grid by the end of 2022, despite the energy crisis. The reasons for this: Variety!
But are they right?
BILD reveals 5 lies of nuclear opponents
► Claim: Germany has no electricity problem but heat!
“Nuclear energy doesn’t help us at all,” says Economy Minister Robert Habeck, 52, the Greens.
The fact is that the more gas is used to produce electricity, the less there is left for heating. If nuclear power plants remain connected to the grid (6 percent of electricity production), there will be more gas left for heating.
Habek’s department is also expected to face electricity problems: Secretary of State Patrick Gration, 50, has recommended companies buy emergency generators to compensate for power outages.
► Claim: Safety checks at nuclear power plants take too long!
The truth is: reactors are regularly checked. TÜV Report (March): Power plants can be ‘safe’ and ‘keep running with some extra measures’.
► Affirmation: The social consensus on stopping nuclear energy must not be jeopardized!
It says, among other things, Green Party leader Britta Haselmann (60). According to INSA, 64 percent of Germans support longer terms — and even 40 percent of Green Party voters.
► Claim: New fuel rods are not there in time!
The fact is that furnaces can operate in an “expansion mode”. This means that fuel bars are used after their specified expiration date. TÜV Conclusion: “Possible”!
► Claim: Not enough staff!
The truth is: the same problem exists with coal-fired power plants, which are restarted at Habik’s behest.
The operators also say: You will not fail because of the employees.
