DAPHNE, Ala. (WJW) — A team of Five Fellas staff members who refused to serve users of an Alabama police power have been fired or suspended, in accordance to the cafe.
The incident occurred at a 5 Men location in Daphne, Alabama late Tuesday night, FOX 10 experiences. The personnel allegedly turned their backs on the 3 officers when they entered the cafe.
Officers told the information outlet 6 or seven people have been involved in the incident. Just one officer claims an employee claimed, “I’m not serving them.”
The officers remaining and went to one more cafe.
As of Friday, Five Men says the workers involved in the incident have either been terminated or suspended.
The company issued the following assertion on their Facebook web site:
“Five Men and the Daphne, AL franchise want to thank the Daphne Police Division for their aid in doing work alongside one another toward a resolution. The actions the Daphne, AL franchise have taken include things like termination and suspension of the workers involved. The retailer has temporarily closed for more instruction and purchaser services education with a consultant from the Daphne Law enforcement Department and will reopen at 4PM nowadays, July 10th. As we uphold our determination to good, respectful, and equal cure for all prospects, please know that the actions and sentiments of a handful of staff members in Daphne, AL do not signify Five Fellas or the community franchisee.”
Daphne law enforcement also issued a assertion pertaining to the incident earlier this week. It reads in section:
The Daphne Police Section appreciates the outpouring of help from our group and from supporters of regulation enforcement throughout the region. We also want to thank 5 Fellas on a corporate and local level. We have been functioning by way of this circumstance and there has been total cooperation. The Daphne Police Division does not consider that the steps of a several staff members represents 5 Men as a whole.

The restaurant was not open up for dine-in provider at the time of the incident owing to the coronavirus disaster. A sign on the doorway explicitly states that the establishment presents curbside, carryout and supply provider and that masks are demanded for entry.
Daphne police say the officers were sporting masks.
