Two weeks ago, the Department of Justice decided not to prosecute former FBI agents.
The majority of (former) gymnasts say they were abused by the ex-American doctor after the abuse was actually reported to the FBI in 2015. Last summer, a report by Department of Justice Inspector Michael Horowitz said the FBI in Indianapolis “did not respond with the utmost seriousness.” And the urgency of the allegations against Nassar.”
In addition to Biles, Olympic champion Alexandra Raisman and McKayla Maroney also belong to the group of claimants. Federal law gives a government agency like the FBI six months to respond to a lawsuit. Depending on the service’s response, lawsuits may follow.
Nassar was sentenced to 175 years in prison in early 2018 for sexually assaulting hundreds of young gymnasts.
