A pair arrested above the Gatwick Airport drone chaos that halted flights have been given £200,000 in compensation.
Armed law enforcement stormed the residence of Paul and Elaine Gait in December 2018, and held them for 36 hrs after drones brought on the airport to close frequently.
The pair had been introduced without cost, and sued Sussex Law enforcement for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment.

In a letter to the pair, Sussex Law enforcement Assistant Chief Constable David Miller explained he was “deeply sorry” for the “unpleasantness” the couple experienced, and acknowledged it would have been “traumatic”.
He added: “Sadly, when the law enforcement carry out their functions on behalf of the community, from time to time harmless people today are arrested as element of necessary police investigations in the public curiosity.
“Nonetheless, we recognise that factors could have been carried out differently and, as a end result, Sussex Police have agreed to shell out you payment and legal prices.”
