Messi’s team was trailing 2-0 and only forced Cincinnati’s extra time in stoppage time. Not least thanks to Messi. The Argentine did not score himself, but the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain striker put the ball within reach of Leonardo Campana twice. He only had to put his head on the ball twice. And the score fell to 2-2 in the 97th minute only.

Last week, Messi won the League Cup with Inter Miami. This was the first award Messi received in the United States. The League Cup is a cup tournament for clubs from the American and Mexican leagues. The US Open Cup is the oldest cup tournament in the United States, and is comparable to the FA Cup in England.
