Gerard Butler has reached a settlement with the producer of the action film series Olympus has fallen. The actor believes he is entitled to more than €9.4 million, which he believes the producer wrongly kept in his own pocket.
He writes that it is not known how much Butler is paid by the producer Hollywood Reporter.
The Scottish actor who starred in the 2013 film and its sequel London has fallen (2016) and The angel has fallen (2019), and according to the indictment, he signed an agreement stipulating that he was entitled to 10 percent of the film’s net profits.
In addition, he had to receive percentages of domestic and foreign income if he exceeded the threshold of $70 million and $35 million (about 66 and 33 million euros, respectively).
According to Butler, producer Nu Image/Millennium Films misrepresented actual revenues. Tens of millions of this money could have been underestimated.
The film, in which Butler, as a secret agent, must prevent an assassination attempt on the President of the United States, grossed approximately €143 million worldwide.
