Julian Nagelsmann has started his tenure as Germany coach well. The fired successor, Hansi Flick, witnessed his team’s victory in a training match against the United States in East Hartford on Saturday: 1-3. Participating in the ranks of the Americans were PSV Eindhoven players Serginio Dest (starter) and Ricardo Pepe (substitute).
Captain Christian Pulisic gave the United States the lead in the 27th minute. Ilkay Gundogan responded with something for the Germans in the first half.
After the break, the team took control of the match. Niklas Volkrug and Jamal Musiala scored in the 58th and 61st minutes, respectively: 1-3.
Germany, the organizer of next year’s European Championship, will play another training match on Wednesday against Mexico.
