In one incident, a 26-year-old man from Klagenfurt fell victim to scammers who approached him through the dating platform Tinder.

Over a period of approximately four months, from July 24, 2023, to November 14, 2023, the previously unknown perpetrators were able to fraudulently gain the man’s trust and manipulate him.
From Tinder to WhatsApp
Scammers used Tinder as a springboard to continue contacting the victim on WhatsApp. Under the pretext of investing in the lucrative world of cryptocurrencies, they convinced the man to make several transfers on different chips. The Klagenfurt resident was convinced he was about to invest in promising cryptocurrencies, but in fact he fell victim to a fraudulent scheme.
Tens of thousands of euros
Ultimately, these fraudulent transactions resulted in a significant financial loss to the affected party, who suffered damages amounting to tens of thousands of euros.
