It has become more popular on Netflix in recent years. The series has been dusted off and added to the US streaming service. The result has been renewed hype around the series, and Netflix now wants to respond consciously to that. More large chains will be “recycled”.
Suits, statement, friends
In recent years, series on Netflix have become more popular and have caused quite a stir in the United States. In addition to the recent success of Suits, this has previously happened with sitcoms Friends, Seinfeld, and The Office. In fact, the release of Manifest generated so much excitement among viewers that Netflix decided to pick up the series. The fourth and final season was produced after NBC canceled the series.
Provide additional value
Netflix has now informed shareholders of various things, including its plans to purchase more content again. With Netflix Originals, the streaming service produces many of its own films and series. But large series from the past will now be bought on a regular basis. “We believe this will provide additional value to our subscribers and also to rights holders who will benefit from increased exposure and revenue.”
HBO is a first step?
This fall, several HBO series arrived on Netflix through a deal Netlfix struck with Warner Bros. This may be the first step towards buying more chains from “competitors”. For example, Band of Brothers, Shameless, and Six Feet Under can be watched in their entirety on Netflix.
