With the temperature reaching 33 or 34 degrees, it will be very hot in Austin on Sunday, but because the air is drier than it was two weeks ago in Qatar, drivers will suffer much less shortness of breath. There are showers and more humid air on their way from the Gulf of Mexico, but they won’t arrive until after the race.
It’s hot at the US Grand Prix, but the temperature is different than it was two weeks ago in Qatar. Then the temperature was 39 degrees during the day near Doha. In the evening the temperature dropped to 32 degrees, but due to the humidity rising to nearly 80% it became very stuffy.
The temperature in Austin during the race will be similar to two weeks ago in Qatar, 33 or 34 degrees. Since the race is held during the day, the air is quite dry and the humidity is probably between 40 and 50%. This makes the heat manageable and not too stressful.

Rain develops over the Gulf of Mexico and heads toward Austin. Rain is moving slowly and will likely only rain overnight into Monday or during the day on Monday. With showers the air also becomes more humid and therefore oppressive.
