Many Galaxy Watch users are currently complaining of massive issues. The reason may be a recently distributed software update.
All Samsung wearable accessories are operated via the Galaxy Wearable app. There is a plugin for every device. The Galaxy Watch 6 requires a different plug-in than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. However, these apps no longer work for many Google Pixel users, according to 9to5Google.
News of the Galaxy Wearable's functionality issue has been spreading on Reddit. There, Google Pixel users reported that the app no longer worked for Galaxy Watch devices after the January 2024 update.
The app bug currently only affects Galaxy Watch devices. However, there are no problems when using headphones. All Samsung Wear OS smartwatches are affected – Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6. The issue that occurs when using the app is that the Galaxy Watch does not stay connected to Google Pixel devices. Users are reporting error messages stating that devices are disconnected and cannot be reconnected.

The issue appears to be caused by a recent Google Pixel update. There is hope that updating the Samsung app will fix the issue. If not, users will have to wait until February to get a fix from Google. Since Samsung and Google have not yet commented on the problem, it is unclear when and whether the update will come or not.
However, it's not just Pixel users, the Galaxy Wearable app is also experiencing issues on Samsung smartphones. The app either crashes or keeps spinning. Some users claim to have solved the issue by resetting the smartphone's date to 2023. Although the issues are likely related, significantly fewer Google Pixel users are reporting them compared to Samsung smartphone users.
