Exactly two months after the Kumho TCR World Tour gained FIA status, the Australian racing group has learned from promoter WSC Group that the two World Tour meetings, originally scheduled for November, will not take place. Worldwide delivery delays and the problematic international situation forced the promoter to cancel meetings in Sydney and Bathurst.

However, the fact that the WSC is calling for logistical issues for participating teams to cancel both meetings eight months before the first Australian TCR World Tour event at Sydney Motorsport Park raises eyebrows; Although the World Tour promoter has informed Supercheap Auto Bathurst International organizer that he will return to Mount Panorama in 2025 onwards.

Despite understandable disappointment at the news, ARG, with the support of the WSC, remains committed to staging a TCR race of international significance at this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst International to give Australian pilots the opportunity to once again compete at the top of the world TCR.

Earlier this year, the TCR World Ranking Final scheduled to be held in Portimão – from which factory riders will be banned from now on – was canceled with no new date yet set. The Kumho TCR World Tour usually starts on the weekend of April 20-21 in Vallelonga, Italy.
