Former President Donald Trump also won the Republican primary elections in the US state of North Dakota. He easily defeated his last remaining challenger, Nikki Haley.
After 99 percent of the votes were counted, Trump received about 84.6 percent of the votes. Former Ambassador to the United Nations Haley received only 14.1% of the votes.
Trump is also expected to dominate Super Tuesday on Tuesday, the most important day of the primaries. Fifteen states and one overseas territory will then go to the polls.
Former UN Ambassador Haley won her first primary election in Washington, D.C., on Sunday. But it has little chance of making things difficult for Trump.
Trump, who faces several criminal cases, is likely to face Democratic President Joe Biden in November.
