Arrow is the creator of the Arrowverse and a wide range of DC series created by The CW. The deal between this American channel and Netflix ended a few years ago and we are now starting to feel the consequences. The arrow will be removed.
Long-term deal between The CW and Netflix
Many series distributed by Netflix worldwide have appeared on The CW on the streaming service. This has led to great success for both parties. Series like Arrow, The Flash, The 100, and Riverdale have scored well and have expanded in some cases due to creating a global fan base. Episodes of the series appeared on Netflix in the days after it aired in the United States. However, the agreement between the two parties expired and was not renewed. This means that series that have already appeared on Netflix will continue to appear, but new productions have gone elsewhere. Now the next step is taken.
Three years after the start
With Arrow, The CW's first major series will be removed from Netflix. It seems that the date is not entirely coincidental. On October 22, 2022, all episodes of Arrow will disappear. This comes exactly three years after Arrow's eighth and final season debuted in the US. If this rule holds true, The 100 will be the next major series from The CW to leave Netflix in the Netherlands next summer (May 25, 2023).
