WhatsApp users can look forward to the new update. Because the messenger is planning an important connection with Instagram. What's behind it?
Munich – Bug fixes, new colorful emojis or useful functions in chat – WhatsApp regularly releases new updates. But now, the world's most widely used messenger is planning a feature that will especially appeal to those who are active on social media.
New update on WhatsApp: Share statuses more easily on Instagram
If users wanted to share a WhatsApp status to an Instagram or Facebook story, they previously had to do so separately. It would be much easier if this could be done with just a few clicks and a single push for all relevant channels. Apparently Meta, the intelligence service's parent company, thought so too.
As reported by WABetaInfo, this functionality is already being worked on. This means that in the future, WhatsApp users will be able to post their WhatsApp status directly on Instagram if necessary. According to the blog, a so-called “cross-deployment feature” is currently being developed for Android. But as we saw in the WhatsApp 24/8/72 beta for iOS, it will soon be available for those who use WhatsApp on an Apple device.
Beta testers can see the new sharing feature in the Updates tab. Once the development and testing phase is completed, a beautiful image can be shared, for example, with contacts not only in WhatsApp status, but also on Facebook and Instagram. There is also a new feature in WhatsApp that affects voice messages.
“WhatsApp users can share their most important events quickly and easily”
“We believe this integration will increase user convenience by allowing WhatsApp users to quickly and easily share their highlights with their WhatsApp contacts and Instagram followers without the need for manual re-release,” the developers wrote, according to the blog.
WABetaInfo provides important additional information: It is an optional feature. Interested users must first activate this – another important WhatsApp function that the messenger highly recommends.
The developers' goal is to increase compatibility with Instagram. In a future update, the feature will be rolled out to all user devices. By the way: WhatsApp is also making a big change to the minimum age.
