- In the Whatsapp app, many menu areas are now green instead of blue.
- This has to do with change in the group.
- Many users are not very happy.
For many users, WhatsApp messenger has changed radically in the past few days.
Anyone who opens the app will not be greeted with the familiar blue color. Instead, everything now lights up green – whether displaying new chats or different buttons.
There is a test behind this, WhatsApp writes.
The update will now be rolled out gradually to everyone. Not everyone can see the new color scheme yet, but the change should be complete in the next few weeks. According to WhatsApp, the color was chosen based on the logo.
“A lot of people are not happy about it. This is absolute nonsense!” one user wrote in a forum on Reddit. Another user wrote: “Once again social media companies are doing things no one asked for.”
Another user points out that people with poor red and green vision may face major problems with the new update.
More changes for Android users
For people who have an Android phone, not only does the color change, but the navigation also changes. For example, the chat bar and various status messages have been moved from top to bottom. According to WhatsApp, the changes should be “better on the eye and closer to the thumb.”
According to fan blog “wabetainfo”, future users of the app should be able to decide for themselves which accent color they want to use for the messaging app. Choices should be blue, green, black and purple. It is currently unclear when and if this functionality will be rolled out to everyone.
