Google's AI system Gemini can now also be linked with several Google apps by users in Austria, Germany and about 40 other countries.
The internet company announced this on Tuesday through its press office in Austria. With the new functionality, you can give Gemini access to Google Maps, Google Flights, Google Hotels, YouTube, as well as Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs.
In the blog entry, Google wrote that the system delivers relevant information from related services directly to the chat with Gemini if you agree to link the application in question. The connection between applications, services, and Gemini AI can be reversed at any time.
For example, when planning a trip with friends, working with Gemini extensions can work like this: If you've already exchanged some ideas and dates via email beforehand, you can first ask Gemini in your Gmail history with your friends to see which data fits everyone. Therefore, you can now view flight and hotel information and choose YouTube videos with tips on things to do. Gemini can also summarize highlights directly into an email to friends.
