Anna Sorokin's story will likely be made into a movie. Netflix offered Marrakesh's Mamounia Hotel con artist, among others, $320,000 to film her biopic on the big screen.
Sorokin is currently serving a prison sentence in the United States. For years, the woman appeared as a wealthy German heiress with a fortune worth sixty million dollars.
The 29-year-old woman had defrauded several luxury hotels, including the Mamounia Hotel in Marrakesh, and influential people. It will be transported to its native Germany this month.
Using the money she got from Netflix, Sorokin repaid $199,000 in bank loans and $24,000 in fines. She still has to repay journalist Rachel Williams $62,000. I went with her to the famous Mamounia Hotel in Morocco. The cost of a night in the hotel is $7,000. They stayed there for six days and Sorokin asked Williams if she could pay the money because her credit card had stopped working.
Anna Sorokin's life story will be shown on Netflix under the title “Inventing Anna.” Actress Julia Garner will play the main role.
