After the hype surrounding Crompouce, there is now a Dubai bar. The delicacy gained attention after influencers ate the bar and posted about it on social media.
Now a bakery in Urk has joined the trend, and the chocolate bar is very popular there too. But anyone who walks into Brewer's Bakery in Urk for the popular Dubai bar will leave empty-handed.
The bakery started selling out the Dubai bar on Wednesday afternoon and was completely sold out in no time. The Dubai Bar is a chocolate bar filled with pistachios.
Popular on TikTok
The buzz around the dessert started when TikTok influencers started escaping the bar. It shows them breaking the bar in half and then the soft green pistachio filling runs out of the chocolate bar. This also applies to influencer Monica Guez. Her video has now been viewed 1.8 million times.
The name “Dubai bar” came about because Tiktokker Maria Verhera from Dubai posted a review about this delicacy at the end of last year. Her video has been viewed more than 62 million times.
This was reason enough for Bonte Koe bakery in Schiedam to be the first in the Netherlands to launch the Dubai Bar. NOS reports that due to the overwhelming demand, it is no longer possible to order the bar online there.

In Urk they also decided to join the trend and thus succeeded. “They were in the shop on Wednesday afternoon and after a few hours they were completely sold out,” says baker Aline ten Napel from Backrig Brewer. She had not expected sales to go so fast.
According to Ten Napel, the reason people line up especially at the bar is because of the stuffing. “It's crunchy and blends well with chocolate. Plus, pistachios are currently a popular ingredient in pastries.” According to Ten Napel, there is more work involved in making the tape. “It took us at least two days.”
They noticed that the bars were popular not only with the bakery, but also with the supplier. Many ingredients are currently difficult to obtain.
“I was the third person to call and they said they wouldn't be able to deliver for another two weeks,” Ten Nabel says. “Luckily I found someone else, so hopefully I can deliver the rods again early next week.”
