Dynasty season 3 debuted this weekend on The CW, but it will be a while before the episodes hit Netflix. The streaming service itself announced this on its social channels. The changing deal with The CW seems to have something to do with it.
The CW and Netflix contract has expired
Earlier this year, it was announced that The CW and Netflix were no longer in a contractual partnership. During the contract period, Netflix held the international streaming rights to all of the shows. As a result, episodes of shows like Riverdale, Dynasty, The 100, and all of the Arrowverse series appeared on Netflix a few days after they aired in the US. So this is something different now. Netflix holds the streaming rights to existing shows, but not for every episode as standard. That’s the case with Riverdale, Supergirl, The Flash, and Arrow at least. But not for Dynasty.
Dynasty Season 3 won't be available on Netflix until 2020
Netflix has now announced that season 3 of Dynasty will not be available on the streaming service until 2020. It will no longer be possible to watch it weekly, but the series will continue to appear on Netflix. The question now is when will the episodes come? There is always a winter break, so the first half of the season could be available as early as 2020. If not, you will have to wait until May or June 2020, when the full season is complete. In the US, all CW series have been released at once, a week after the season finale for several years. This may now also be the case in the Netherlands.
