The memo that Bock was able to obtain comes from a Democratic political committee that has been raising money for Biden’s campaign. Since 2021, they have been monitoring Biden’s lead among American voters.
Not only are Biden’s chances slipping in states that have historically voted clearly Democratic, but the president is also trailing Kamala Harris for the first time. The memo shows this in a poll of alternative candidates.
Democrats Pete Buttigieg, the transportation secretary, Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan, and Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, also have a better chance of winning than Biden, according to the poll.

The findings come in the wake of last week’s presidential debate with Donald Trump, Biden’s biggest rival. After that debate, concerns about Biden’s age grew and Democrats were divided over whether Biden should be replaced. Twenty-five lawmakers want to call on Biden to make way for someone else.
Biden himself indicates that he wants to continue his campaign and stay in the race.
The current president has made plans to meet with Democratic governors and lawmakers and wants to visit states where the battle with Trump is most difficult. He has also been interviewed by ABC News. Excerpts of the interview will air Friday and a longer version will air Sunday.
