Richard van der Veen could be back in action for RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie from next season. The 32-year-old striker returns to the club he has been contracted to for two and a half years after two adventures abroad.
Van der Veen left for Australia in the summer of 2022. There he started working for Melbourne City, with whom he immediately became a hero in his first year. However, the attacking midfielder soon left for Swiss club St. Gallen, where he left again a year later on a free transfer.
Van der Veen was without a club and now RKC are bringing him in. The Dutchman has signed a contract until the summer of 2026 at Waalwijk. “I'm really looking forward to helping the club achieve new sporting achievements,” Van der Veen said on the RKC website.
Van der Venne is already the sixth signing of the new season for RKC. Previously, Roshon van Eijma (TOP Oss), Yannick van Osch (SC Cambuur), Tim van de Loo (Telstar), Dawnda Weidman (Torino) and Juan Familia Castillo (without a club) were selected.
