DOKUM – FIOD arrested a 51-year-old man from the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân on Wednesday and conducted a search as part of a criminal investigation.
The man is suspected of running five companies that failed to comply with their administrative and information obligations. During a search of his home, physical and digital data were seized.
Criminal investigation
The criminal investigation was initiated after a signal from the tax authorities about the suspect's failure to comply with tax obligations in the private and commercial sectors. Initially, the investigation focused on failure to file income tax returns.
Despite the suspect's promise to improve and provide information, an investigation has also been launched into his companies' failure to comply with management and information obligations.
recognized facts
After being questioned, the suspect confessed to the facts and was removed. He received a summons to respond on October 21, 2024 for willful failure to file income tax returns over several years.
Once the investigation into non-compliance with management and information obligations is completed, this case will also be quickly brought to court.
