Almost every smartphone owner in Germany uses Whatsapp. But despite the simplicity of the app, it becomes confusing with every new function. Thus, the new functions that have just been introduced via an update have reached their smartphones completely unnoticed by many people. There is a lot to discover.
New stickers from GIPHY
Anyone who loves GIFs and prefers to communicate only in this format knows GIPHY. And now GIPHY is also available in your WhatsApp. From now on, you can find GIPHY animated stickers in your WhatsApp stickers manager. All you have to do is go to the stickers menu and choose a sentence or search directly for a sticker related to your current feelings.
If you have already downloaded some stickers, the area will quickly become full and confusing. That's why you can now sort the small pictures and always keep an eye on your favorite ones.
Alert for Android Users: New Whatsapp Images Feature
Standard stickers are of course quite impersonal. But WhatsApp now offers a solution here too. The function, which has long been available on iOS, i.e. on Apple iPhones, is now also available on WhatsApp for Android phones. You can now create your own stickers from your photos.
To do this, Meta has built a “Create” button into the label menu that takes you to the Custom Label Maker. There you can simply choose a photo of yourself or something and the function turns the photo into a label. It allows you to use a cropped version, i.e. an image without a background. You can also customize your image individually and offer editing tools like pen and crop. Finally, when you save, you can put the new label in your overview and you can always access it from now on.
AI stickers are not intended for German users.
Meanwhile, the AI super-powered thing has yet to make it to Germany. Whatsapp has announced that AI stickers are only available in the US. US users can already create and use AI-generated stickers on iPhone and Android mobile phones. This works in English, Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia. But German users are still looking into the tube.
