Former American writer, activist and preacher Jeffrey Shaun King converted to Islam at the beginning of Ramadan. He says he was affected by “six months of suffering and pain that the Palestinians suffered.”
The king and his wife, Ray, converted to Islam on Monday. A video on Instagram and Facebook shows the couple reciting the Shahada at a mosque in Texas, led by American Muslim scholar Omar Suleiman, a friend of King's for more than a decade. “We recited the Shahada together and converted to Islam to begin the month of Ramadan,” King wrote. “It was a beautiful, powerful, and meaningful day that we will never forget.” After the evening prayer, he returned to his home with his wife.
