A signed copy of Tazio Magazine fetched 12,000 Swiss francs at an auction in Switzerland on Friday, roughly the same amount in euros. The special edition of the first issue of the Belgian motoring magazine contains thirteen signatures on the cover of the well-known names in the racing world. Among them is Briton Nigel Mansell, who won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1992 with his Williams.

RM Sotheby’s sold the magazine at auction to mark the “Internationale Sankt Moritzer Automobilwoche”. The copy went under the hammer for 10,000 francs, five times the estimated revenue, which increased to 12,000 francs after costs. Proceeds will go to the Grand Prix Trust, a charitable organization run by Formula One star Jackie Stewart that helps former elite motorsport workers when needed.
For example, the copy offered at auction is signed by Nigel Mansell and Stefan Johansson, a Swede who raced for Onyx, Jean-Pierre Van Rossem’s Formula 1 team. Other names include five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell, two-time Le Mans winner Hans Joachim Stock, Jochen Maas, five-time DTM champion Bernd Schneider, Timo Bernard, Eric Comas, Christian Geistdorfer, Gerard Larus, Eric Hillary, Jochen Nirbach and Tim Gluck.
Tazio magazine was launched a year ago, in the fall of 2021. Meanwhile, the magazine focused on historical motorsports runs to five issues. The name comes from Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari.
