After four years of Trump rule, Democrats want to limit the president’s power

Finally, it is now mandatory for presidential candidates to release their tax information to the public. This was already good practice, but Trump always pulled it off.

Trump 2024?

“We have to legislate this so that no president from any party imagines that he has the power to usurp power from other branches of government,” Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told delegates.

However, it remains to be seen whether Republicans will approve the bill, which is read as an indictment of former President Trump. He may run for re-election in 2024 and will not face a law limiting his power, if re-elected.

In the Senate, Democrats need at least ten Republican votes, but many Republicans fear a clash with Trump. Whoever gets his way in the party has to count on losing the support of the former president who is revered by many supporters in the upcoming elections.
