We are playing again in an international game and that means a number of NEC players are on the way. Ali Ackman and Robin Rufus, among others, went into effect on Friday. Alice Tavsan also had this opportunity, but unfortunately he was on the bench and did not turn up.
Akman joined Turkey U-21s after the last NEC match, and they play in the European U-23 Championship qualifiers, just like the Dutch juniors. The Turkish striker was on the field for 90 minutes against his colleagues in Scotland. He received a yellow card but failed to score. Despite this, his team won. The score was 0-2 for the Turks.
The Roefs played a closed exhibition match against Australia with the Orange team. The match ended with a score of 2-2 and the young goalkeeper was scoring the goal throughout the match. Tavsan was one of those who did not attend the minutes of the meeting. He was first called up to the Dutch Juniors by national coach Erwin van der Luig. He had to watch and see from the bench that his team was unable to score against Bulgaria’s under-21 team. That match ended 0-0.
Tuesday, March 29th Tavsan gets another chance for his potential debut. Then a match is scheduled against Switzerland under the age of 21 and this is currently the leader of the group to qualify for the European Championship. The Dutch juniors are five points behind them, but have played one game less.
