For the past five years, Anke de Jong has been the editor-in-chief of Glamor, a brand that Hearst Netherlands will not publish. As a Brand Manager, she has previously worked for Jackie, JFK, Millionaire Magazine, Hide & Chic, and JAN Magazine. As editor in chief, De Jong will also be responsible for the brand-new Elle Shopping Day, the first of which will take place in September.
“I take the opportunity with both hands to lead the global brand Elle in the Netherlands and be its face,” says De Jong. I look forward to building further with the team, both online and offline. Full of energy, we will ensure to inspire our readers every day in terms of fashion, lifestyle and individuality.
Eden Russell has been at the helm of Elle since 2015. Prior to that, she was the editor-in-chief of sister magazines Elle Decoration and Elle Eten for ten years. “I am delighted to be able to share my editorial knowledge and experience in a new role within Hearst Holland,” she says. “Elle is a wonderful brand, which has a special place in my heart. I look forward to continuing to work with all these passionate and creative colleagues.”
These are turbulent times for magazines in the Netherlands, especially women’s magazines. Earlier, Viva stated that there is no future, so the latest version will appear in July.
