ASUS ZenFone 8 series smartphones will be launched soon. The reason behind this is that the recently spotted ZenFone 8 Mini with TÜV SÜD certification has now appeared on the benchmark Geekbench site. The Taiwanese tech giant appears to have tested the device’s performance internally before making it official.
Previous reports revealed that the ASUS ZenFone 8 Mini model number is ASUS_I006D / ASUS_ZS590KS. On Geekbench 5, the phone appeared with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
In the list, the included chipset is written as ‘lahaina’, codename for Snapdragon 88 and base frequency of 1.80GHz. Note that the smartphone scored 1121 and 3662 in the single-core and multi-core tests on the Geekbench app.
Previous reports also revealed that the ZenFone 8 Mini will be using a 5.9-inch FHD + OLED display and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera setup on this smartphone includes a 64MP main camera with Sony IMX686 sensor.
ASUS is also said to be flooding the latest Sony IMX663 sensor in the ASUS ZenFone 8 Mini. Unfortunately, it is unclear if this smartphone has a dual lens in its camera setup. Instead, ZenFone 8 Mini will offer a Cirrus CS3SL45 amplifier.
Although the battery size is not known yet, TÜV SÜD certification reveals that the smartphone can support 30W fast charging. With a screen of 5.9 inches, the phone is likely to debut as a more compact smartphone with the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
