Amsterdam / Arnhem – Opzij magazine named Arnhem Sivan Hasan as the most influential athlete in the Netherlands. Rebecca Jumperts stands Inclusive At number one in the list of most influential women. It is the Women on Surf Foundation, which has championed open abortion.
Annually Opzij publishes the 100 Most Influential Women, with winners in ten categories. For example, SP MP Renske Leijten won in the political category; Sivan Hassan in the sports category and presenter Fidan Ikiz in the media category. Attorney Lisbeth Zigfield ended up at the top of the “Public Administration and Order” section.
Sivan Hassan, who trained again after a while in the United States at the Papendal National Athletic Center in Arnhem, set a new world record last fall. Previously, the athlete of Ethiopian descent was several times champion of Europe and the world at various medium distances, both outdoors and indoors. In total, there are three world records for her name. In 2019 and 2020, she was nominated for the title of the best female athlete in the world.
Time Magazine
Rebecca Gomperts topped the list in the nonprofit category. Leave the ten winners side by side and choose the most influential woman. “Gomperts has been fighting the world over for decades for safe and freely accessible abortion, including by using her abortion boat,” Obzig writes. In September, Time magazine also included Jumperts on its list of the world’s most influential people, in the Pioneer category.
Women on the Waves helps women who wish to have safe abortions from countries where they are not permitted by taking them on a boat to international waters, where they can have an abortion. The organization wants to offer a safe medical alternative and prevent women from resorting to risky methods.
